A farmer was trampled to death and three others were injured by wild elephants at Kalatali forest near Cox's Bazar town yesterday.

While some farmers were working on a potato farm, a herd of wild elephants surged towards them crushing and killing Mohammad Yusuf, 35, by their feet and injuring Abul Kalam, 55, Farid Alam, 28, and Md Jobair, 38.

Police and sources said local farmers kept off their crop field in fear of the elephants.
