Patuakhali Polytech rooms ransacked

Witnesses and sources said a section of students led by JCD cadres boycotted classes and brought out a procession on the campus demanding cancellation of the transfer order of Reazul Bahar, an instructor of civil faculty, to Khulna Polytechnic Institute.

The JCD cadres ransacked six rooms of the Institute at about 10-30am.

Police brought the situation under control. Additional forces were deployed on the campus to avoid further untoward incident.

Dr Khan Rezaul Karim, principal of the institute, said the directorate of higher education at Dhaka has ordered the transfer and local authorities have nothing to do with it.

He expressed his indignation at the ransacking and unruly activities of a section of students.
