Police action on female workers condemned
Karmajibi Nari condemned the police of their atrocity on female garment workers at the Youngone Factory of Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ) on Monday.
Organisation President Shirin Akhter and General Secretary Sharmin Kabir termed the incident as 'medieval barbarism' in a joint statement yesterday.
Workers' discontent occurs due to the indifference of garment owners and authority, violation of labour laws and unacceptable behaviour, they said.
