Police conduct fresh 'motor parade'

Police sources said officials of the detective branch (DB), led by DC Shahidul Islam, conducted the 'motor parade' at the car park of her Dhanmondi residence, where she was hit by her own car, to ascertain the real cause of the accident. Zakir Hossain was driving the car during the accident.

During the one-hour parade, an assistant commissioner of DB drove the car while driver Zakir was sitting beside him, sources said.

On Thursday, the police conducted the first 'motor parade', which raised doubts about the claim of the driver that it was a mere accident and no-one has a hand in it.

A police official investigating the accident said they have found some inconsistencies in the statements Zakir gave during the interrogation.

Zakir was arrested from Pallabi area a week after the accident took place.
