Speaking as chief guest, Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossien, minister for health and family welfare, said Dr Milon sacrificed his life for establishing democracy in the country and his supreme sacrifice turned the mass movement into a mass upsurge that paved the way for the downfall of the autocratic regime.

He assured Dab members saying that the health policy will be implemented soon.

Paying tributes to Shaheed Dr Milon, Ataus Samad, advisory editor of the daily Amar Desh said Milon is the symbol of unity as all the political leaders sit together on the occasion of his death anniversary.

"He is still living in our heart and his ideals are still alive among us," he added.

Prof Dr M A Hadi, chief advisor of Dab, said Dr Milon shed blood to make the country a non-communal, democratic and prosperous one but his dream is yet to come true due to unfriendly attitude of the political parties.
