Private varsity teachers’ team meets minister

A total of 50,000 students are enrolled in 53 private universities in the country.

The figures were disclosed when a delegation of the Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh called on Agriculture Minister MK Anwar at his office on yesterday.

Led by association co-convener Abul Kashem Haider, the delegation apprised the minister of the system followed by the private universities to impart knowledge to the students.

"They also elaborated on the activities of the management to run the institutions," said an official release.

Emphasising in-house human resource development to ensure effective education, the minister suggested that each institution should have its own faculty members.
