Prof Muzaffer Ahmad awarded MA Huq Gold Medal

Tagore song exponent Anup Bhattacharaya has been chosen for "Honour for the year 2005" by MA Huq Foundation named after late senior police official, minister, writer and social worker.

The two personalities and four recipients of student scholarships were honoured at a function in the city on Friday.

Vice-Chancellor of BRAC University Prof Jamilur Reza Chowdhury chaired the function where Prof. Zillur Rahman Siddiqui was present as the chief guest. Former finance minister AMA Muhith, educationist Prof. Abdullah Abu Syeed and Secretary of the Foundation Rehana Ashiqur Rahman spoke on the occasion.

A seminar titled "A corruption-free humane Bangladesh -- prospects in the 21st century" was also held in this connection in which Dr Atiur Rahman was the keynote speaker.
