Programmes to observe Nov 7

The government has chalked out elaborate programmes to observe the National Revolution and Solidarity Day on November 7 with due honour and enthusiasm.

The day will also be observed in Bangladesh missions abroad.

President Iajuddin Ahmed and Prime Minister Khaleda Zia will give separate messages on the occasion.

The day will be a public holiday.

The National flag will be hoisted atop all public and private buildings on the day.

Milad mahfil, iftar mahfil and special prayers will be arranged in all mosques and in temples, monasteries and churches and other places of worship.

Improved diet will be served in all hospitals, prisons, orphanages, children centres, shishu shadans, shanti nibashes and vagabond centres.

Milad mahfil and discussions will be organised for the families of martyred freedom fighters and injured freedom fighters.

The day will also be observed in a befitting manner by the Army, Navy and Air Force through hoisting national flags, illumination, milad mahfil, and special darbars.
