Proposal to change architectural designs

The 31st meeting of the parliamentary standing committee on the Ministry of Cultural Affairs was held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with its chairman Prof Shahidul Islam presiding.

Committee members, including Rezaul Karim Heera and Alhaj Shafi Ahmed Chowdhury, attended the meeting. State Minister for Cultural Affairs Begum Selima Rahman attended the meeting on a special invitation, said an official press release.

The members reviewed the progress of implementation of the decisions taken in the last meeting and also discussed the proposed programmes to bring changes in architectural designs of the Buddhist Monastery at Paharpur and Shaat Gambuj Mosque at Bagerhat, already parts of the World Heritage.

Besides, the meeting made recommendations for implementation of the decisions taken by the standing committee.
