Leaders of Rajshahi BNP yesterday welcomed the expulsion of Abu Hena MP from the party.

In an instant reaction, Rajshahi city Mayor and ruling party lawmaker Mizanur Rahman Minu told Bdnews: "It was a right decision to expel him after he made statements to the media violating party discipline."

Nadim Mustafa, a BNP lawmaker from Rajshahi-4 (Puthia-Durgapur), welcomed the decision and said those engaged in anti-party activities should be expelled.

Ruling party leaders and activists in Abu Hena's constituency in Baghmara-Mohanpur brought out processions to celebrate his expulsion.

Local BNP leaders also reportedly distributed sweetmeats among the people on hearing the news.
