Rajshahi court Stays triennial council of AL

Sadar Senior Assistant Judge Tarek Ahsan also asked five AL leaders including General Secretary Abdul Jalil to show cause within 24 hours as to why a permanent injunction would not be imposed on the council if the disputed issues were not resolved.

The court issued the stay order following a suit by former district AL joint secretary Amanul Hasan Dudu in which he apprehended irregularities, bloodshed and loss of properties if the council is held.

Two factions- one led by acting president Meraj Uddin Mollah and the other by general secretary Tajul Islam Md Faruk- have been fighting for establishing their supremacy in the district committee for last several months.
