Rakta Joba to be screened at 59th Cannes Film Festival

Cannes Film Festival is one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world attracting filmmakers, producers, TV companies and distributors of all genres of film and media across the world, said a press release yesterday.

This year's festival will be opened by the film 'Da Vinci Code' by Ron Howard. The festival takes place from May 17 to 28 at the French Rivera, the historic town of Cannes.

Rakta Joba is a twelve-minute long short film made in Bangladesh produced by a UK-based company Bangla Connection. Director Makbul Chowdhury is currently based in London. He is a former member of Bangladesh Short Film Forum.

As part of participation in the Short Film Corner the film receives the authorisation to use official logo 'Short Film Corner Festival de Cannes 2006' within the film and in any marketing materials.
