Removal of Khagrachhari DC demanded

They said a book titled 'Khagrachhari-2003-2005' was published by the district administration a few days ago.

In the book, the DC allegedly termed the indigenous communities of Chakma, Marma and Tripura as outsiders and settlers.

"He (DC) is a fundamentalist, mean-minded and inactive. We want his immediate removal as early as soon," said Zila Nagorik Committee Secretary Santushita Chakma Bokul.

While talking to The Daily Star, Samari Chakma, associate coordinator, Khagrachhari UPDF, said 'We will launch movement taking indigenous people with us if our demand is not met soon'.
