Resolve power crisis to save mills, factories in Khulna
President of Khulna Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Shaharuzzaman Martuza has urged authorities of West Zone Power Distribution Company Ltd (WZPDCL) to resolve load-shedding problem immediately to save mills and factories from being destroyed.
The KCCI president, who is also a senior leader of City BNP, submitted a memorandum to Managing Director of WZPDCL Brigadier General (Retd) Md Mofizur Rahman at Biddut Bhaban yesterday.
He was accompanied by the directors of Khulna Chamber.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. The KCCI president urged the MD of WZPDCL to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity, generated from 110-megawatt power plant of Goalpara, to Khulna Zone.
The severe load-shedding is not only crippling economy of this part of the country but also destroying academic careers of students and risking lives of hospital patients, the KCCI president said.
