Robber beaten to death
A man was beaten to death at Mokamtola area under Shibganj upazila of the district for his involvement in a night coach robbery in the early hours of yesterday.
Police sources said a gang of robbers, who got on the coach as passengers, looted gold and cash worth Tk 1 lakh from Thakurgaon bound night coach passengers.
After the incident, the robbers left the coach at Mokamtola and tried to run away but the local people caught one of the gang members and beat him up leaving him dead on the spot.
