RU okays process of recruiting 50 teachers
The Rajshahi University (RU) authorities at a meeting last night decided to okay the process of recruiting 50 teachers for 29 departments amid serious protest by 546 'controversial' employees.
Sources said the selection board would meet on January 29 and 30 to finalise the appointment.
Earlier on January 21, the 'controversial' employees carried out sporadic attacks on teachers and officials and ransacked the offices of the vice-chancellor and pro-vice-chancellor protesting the move for appointing the teachers.
