RU staffs observe work abstention
General employees of Rajshahi University (RU) (except controversially appointed 544 employees) yesterday observed a daylong work abstention programme to press home their seven-point demand.
The demands include employment of the sons and daughters of retired and dead employees, extension of retirement age up to 65 years and withdrawal of the decision of slashing 20 percent of pension.
During the programme, no administrative activities were held in any offices of the university.
