RU staffs observe work abstention
Officers and employees of Rajshahi University (RU) observed a daylong work abstention programme yesterday to press home their five-point demand.
The demands include immediate confirmation of the jobs of 31 employees appointed on January 15, 2002, extension of retirement age up to 65 years and withdrawal of the decision of slashing 20 percent of pension.
During the work abstention programme, enforced by the Officer and Karmachari Oikya Parishad, no administrative activities were held in different offices of the university.
