Ruet students boycott class
Second year students of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (Ruet) yesterday boycotted their scheduled classes and examinations in protest against the attack on general students by armed cadres of Islamic Chhatra Shibir on Saturday night.
Around 60 to 70 Shibir activists led by RU ICS President Mahbub Alam Salehi attacked the students of Shahidul Haque Hall injuring 25 students including 10 Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) activists.
The attack was in retaliation for putting up posters on the walls against Salehi who is a key suspect of murdering RU Geology and Mining department teacher Prof Taher Ahmed at his campus residence on February 1.
