Ruling party men ransack NGO office in Kathalia
An NGO office was ransacked allegedly by the activists of ruling BNP and its front organisations in Kathalia upazila yesterday.
Sources said around 40 activists of BNP, Jubo Dal and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal attacked the office of LIP, an NGO, beat up its guard Sohel Ahmed and damaged and looted goods.
The attackers also locked the office at about 12:30pm before leaving the spot.

The sources said the ruling party men made the attack as Md Abul Hossain, executive director of LIP and also vice-president of Barguna district Awami League, addressed a public meeting where about 1,000 Jatiya Party leaders and workers joined the AL on April 30.
Abul Hossain said the NGO has been running since 1998 with the financial assistance of the Japanese government.
