Russian envoy concerned over rise of militancy

Oleg S Malginv held the meeting with Awami League President Hasina before attending the regional conference of the Russian ambassadors of this region in Delhi.

They discussed the prevailing political and law and order situations in the country.

Sources said different issues, including rise of militancy, suicide bomb attacks, terrorism, political and social instability in the country, figured prominently at the meeting.

They also discussed issues of bilateral interests.

The Russian envoy expressed his grave concern over the rise of militants and rampant suicide attacks in the country.

He will submit a report on overall situation in Bangladesh at the upcoming regional conference of the Russian ambassadors.

AL presidium member Kazi Jafrullah MP, Sheikh Hasina's political secretary Saber Hossain Chowdhury and former ambassador Mohammad Ziauddin were present.
