'Save rivers from industrial pollution'
A boat procession was brought out yesterday demanding protection of the rivers from pollution by industrial wastes.
Starting from Shaswan Ghat of the Chilai river at about 8:30am the procession passed through the Belai Bee, Balu and Turag rivers and terminated at Ashulia.

The procession chanted slogans demanding protection of bio-diversity of rivers from industrial wastes and construction of water treatment plant in all factories.
The leaders also held rallies at five points. Former vice-chancellor of Jahangirnagar University Jasim Uddin Ahmed and Paribesh Bachao Andolon convenor Abu Naser Khan spoke.
