SC rejects govt plea for stay HC judgment
The Supreme Court (SC) yesterday again turned down the government plea for staying the High Court (HC) judgment that had declared illegal the provision of district ministers.
Passing the order, Chamber Judge Amirul Kabir Chowdhury advised Attorney General AJ Mohammad Ali to submit its plea before a regular bench of the Appellate Division.
On April 27, the High Court declared illegal the government orders giving additional charge of different districts to cabinet ministers, advisors, chief whip, state ministers, whips and deputy ministers to oversee development programmes and law and order.
