SCBA view exchange meet on election today

Former judges, legal experts and representatives of different professional organisations will participate in the meeting with SCBA President Advocate Mahbubey Alam in the chair.

SCBA Secretary Advocate M Enayetur Rahim told BDNEWS yesterday that the SCBA has organised the meeting to extract suggestions on how the people's faith and trust can be brought back on the Election Commission (EC).

"The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) has made the EC a 'political organisation'. The EC will have to be made neutral, transparent and nonpartisan for holding free and fair elections in the country. Following the discussion, proposals, opinions and recommendations of the meeting, the SCBA will take next course of action," he said.
