Seven lighter vessels seized

Sources said Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) Magistrate Mohammad Munir Chowdhury during a drive at different points of Karnaphuli estuary and outer anchorage seized the vessels.

The seized vessels were MV Firoze Farzana-1, MV S Alam, MV Parabar, MV Amin-3, MV Babul, MV Madina and MV Hurasagar.

The vessels were carrying over four thousand metric tonnes of wheat, TSP fertiliser, gram, fuel and cement clinker.

They were detained at different buoys of the Chittagong Port and the excess goods were unloaded through transhipment, CPA sources said.

The court also seized the survey certificates of the vessels.
