South Asian economics students' meet ends
The slogan of the meet was 'Sharing ideas for better understanding of South Asian development'.
About 40 students from renowned universities in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh took part in the Prime Bank 3rd South Asian Economics Students' Meet-2006.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Saleh Uddin Ahmed delivered thanksgiving speech at the closing ceremony at a city hotel while Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed, chairman of the economics department of Dhaka University, presided.
A total of eight technical sessions and a quiz competition were held at three venues, including Biam auditorium, in the two days.
Organised by the DU economics department, the meet was sponsored by Prime Bank Limited while Channel i and The Daily Star were the media partners.
The first meet of economics students was held in India in 2004 and the second one in Pakistan in 2005.
