Take steps to rescue missing fishermen
She also demanded immediate steps to rescue the fishermen.
"Several hundreds fishing trawlers with thousands of fishermen aboard went missing, but there is no effective steps to rescue them by the government. The lives of people are of no value to this government and it always remains indifferent," Hasina said in a statement.
Due to a low over the Bay, a vast area of the coastal belt, including Cox's Bazar, Barguna, Patuakhali and Shatkhira, was affected, causing a heavy loss of lives and property, she said. "Still, 80 trawlers and 800 fishermen remained missing," she added.
"The responsibility of the government was to bring back the trawlers after getting the information about the low. If it had done so, such a huge loss would not have occurred. But the people of the country still do not know whether any steps were taken by the government," she said.
The government is now busy plundering national resources, Hasina said, adding that there is no alternative but to oust this failed government through a vigorous movement.
