Awami Jubo League, youth front of Awami League (AL), staged a demonstration in the city yesterday in the capital with sticks, oars and poles of boats, demanding immediate implementation of reforms to the caretaker government and the Election Commission.

The members of Jubo League also protested the 'indecent and objectionable' comments against AL President Sheikh Hasina and her son by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Tarique Rahman.

Earlier, several hundreds Jubo League activists gathered at Muktangan and paraded different city streets with a procession.

Later, the Jubo League leaders at a rally at Bangabandhu Avenue hoped that the secretaries level dialogue between AL and BNP would end the current political deadlock.

Referring to Tarique's remarks, Jubo League Chairman Jahangir Kabir Nanak said the nation wants to know how a family, 'which had only a broken suitcase and torn clothes after the death of Ziaur Rahman,' could become the richest family in the country?

He said Tarique will be tried in the people's court for his, what he said, killing, grenade and bomb attacks, misrule and unbridled corruption.

General Secretary Mirza Azam MP said people do not want Justice KM Hasan as the chief advisor to the caretaker government as he is a BNP man. "If Justice Hasan takes charge, the entire country will be brought to a standstill," Azam added.
