Taxicab, CNG auto-rickshaw workers' strike on June 5
Taxicab, private car and CNG auto-rickshaw Sramik Oikya Jote has called a dawn-to-dusk strike in the capital on June 5 to press home their 8-point demand.
It was decided at a joint representatives meeting of the organisation at its temporary office at Bangabandhu Avenue in the city yesterday. The meeting was presided over by the organisation's convener Mohammad Shah Alam.
Speakers at the meeting urged the government to meet their eight-point demand immediately.

The demands include fixing the deposit money for every black and yellow cab at Tk 500 and Tk 700 respectively, stoppage of realising Tk 500 in addition to the deposit money of Tk 300 for every CNG auto-rickshaw for a day fixed by the government, and fixing the monthly salary of every private car driver at Tk 7,000.
