Tech college teachers announce fresh agitation programmes

The programme was announced by BTCTA President Principal M A Sattar at a press conference at Dhaka Reporters' Unity auditorium.

The programmes included formation of human chain at Muktangon on August 10, discussion on the 'Importance of human resources development and current situation' at the National Press Club on august 19, staging demonstration in all district headquarters on August 28 and a token hunger strike in front of Technical Education Board from 10:00am to 3:00pm on August 31.

The demands of BTCTA included registration of students, reduction of examination fees, elimination of salary discrimination between general and vocational education, initiation of a separate pay scale for technical teachers and their representation at the academic programmes of the board.

Principal Sttar said some 4.70 crore youths in the country remain unemployed albeit they might be provided with technical education to generate national income.

BTCTA is already in a movement after expressing its solidarity with National Front of Teachers and Employees (NFTA) from July 8.
