Unidentified miscreants in an anonymous letter yesterday threatened to blow up the local office of Proshika, a leading non-government organisation, demanding a toll of Tk 10 lakh within a month.

In the letter addressed to Area Coordinator Khadiza Begum, they also gave death threat to NGO officials along with their spouses and children for non-fulfilment of the demand.

The letter was dropped into the letterbox of Proshika office at Katalganj under Panchlaish Police Station at 9:00am.

The letter created panic among the officials and staffs, and prompted the area coordinator to seek protection of the Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) who have tightened the security in and around the Proshika office.
