Three get life for murder
The Speedy Trial Tribunal in Khulna on Thursday sentenced three people to life imprisonment for killing a Union Parishad chairman in 2004.
Judge Abdus Samad also fined the convicts -- Alam Molla, Feroze Khan and Jamal Molla -- Tk 50,000 each. If they fail to pay, they would have to suffer three years' more imprisonment. Alam was tried in absentia.
The tribunal, however, acquitted six other accused.
