Tk 60 lakh Indian sarees seized in city

Tipped off, a team of custom officers led by Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department Director Motiur Rahman seized a pick-up van carrying illegal Indian sarees on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway near Jatrabari at 2:50am.

Custom officials said the seized sarees were being smuggled from Comilla border to be sold in the city markets.

However, they could not arrest the driver of the van during the operation.

A departmental case was filed in this connection.
