Tourists stranded in Cox's Bazar
Thousands of tourists, who went to Cox's Bazar on Eid holidays, got stranded there due to political violence and strike.
For the last week, all the hotels, motels and tourist lodges have been jam-packed with visitors from home and abroad, with some innkeepers making hefty sums by charging three to four times the regular fares.
The posh hotels have arranged Eid musical concerts and other shows to celebrate Eid day with their guests.
Administration sources said they took adequate security and safety measures by deploying police and Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) members in all sensitive areas, including the beach and tourist zones.
