Trader shot dead in Munshiganj
A small trader was shot dead and nine other were injured when gunmen opened fire on a group of people at Dighirpar Bazar in Tongibari upazila yesterday.
The dead was identified as Anis, 32, a betel-leaf and cigarette trader of Dighirpar Bazar and son of Sohrab Bepari of Rakhikandi village in Sadar upazila.
Witnesses said the gunmen, allegedly hired by a manpower agent of Dighirpar Bazar, opened fire on a group of people of Rakhikandi village, leaving one dead and injuring nine others.

Police recovered the body of Anis and sent it to Munshiganj Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Additional police have been deployed at the village to fend off further trouble.
