Train derails near Sylhet
One of the compartments of a commuter train derailed on Chittagong-Sylhet route yesterday disrupting train services on the route for about six hours.
Railway sources said the bogey of Sylhet-bound Jalalabad Express from Chittagong veered off the track in between Maijgaon and Moglabazar stations at around 10:00am.
The disruption of train communication between the district and other parts of the country caused untold sufferings to passengers, particularly children and elderly people.

The Parabat Express reached Sylhet at 5:30pm after a relief train salvaged the bogey while the Chittagong-bound Paharika Express left Sylhet at 4:10pm instead of 10:15am.
Dhaka-bound Parabat Express could not depart Sylhet as of filling this report at about 7:00pm.
