Trial against JMB chief not held in Sylhet
A Sylhet court could not begin trial in an arms case filed against Jama,atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) chief Abdur Rahman and eight others as Rahman was not produced before it yesterday.
Judge ANM Bashirullah of the District Judge's Court fixed June 27 for next hearing of the case and directed the authorities concerned to produce Rahman and others before it on that day.
Seven others are Rahman,s wife Nurjahan Begum Rupa, daughter Afifa Rahman, sons Fuad and Mahmud and two associates-Moyezul Islam Chowdhury alias Hridoy Chowdhury and Abdul Aziz alias Hanif.

Sub-Inspector Waliullah of Sylhet Kotwali Police Station filed two cases -- one under Arms Act and the other under Explosive Substances Act -- just after the arrest of JMB chief and his accomplices and family members from the Surjadigholbari at East Shaplabag in Sylhet city on March 2.
The investigation officer pressed charges against Rahman and eight others on April14.
