Trial of killers demanded

A rally was held in the town yesterday demanding the trial of the killers of four-party alliance leader and local businessman Sabbir Alam Khandaker.

Many ruling party leaders attended the rally organised by Shaheed Sabbir Alam Khandaker Foundation.

Addressing the rally, the speakers regretted that despite handing over the case to Criminal Investigation Department (CID), there was very little progress in this respect.

"We are expecting prime minister's intervention for speedy trial of the case," they added.

The speakers also demanded the transfer of the case to Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) for fair and quick investigation.

The rally was addressed by the elder brother of the deceased and Narayanganj district BNP General Secretary Advocate Taimur Alam Khandaker, FBCCI Senior Vice-president Md Ali, City Jubo Dal Convenor Jahangir Alam, BNP leader Advocate Abul Kalam Azad Biswas, Advocate Shakhawat Hossain Khan, Nasir Hossain, Jalal Uddin and Nazrul Islam.
