Two killed in road accidents
Our correspondent from Chittagong reports: A boy was killed in a road accident in the port city yesterday.
The victim was identified as Md Belal Hossain, 12, son of Mohammad Shahjahan of Textile Al Amin Masjid under Bayezid Bostami area .
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Police and witnesses said, Belal was knocked down by a truck on Bayezid Bostami Road at Textile Mills Gate area at around 3:50pm.
He was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where doctors declared him dead.
Our Staff Correspondent from Khulna says: A schoolboy was killed in a road accident yesterday at Kathaltala under Dumuria upazila here.
The dead was identified as Liton Molla,10, son of Moslemuddin Molla of Kharnia village of the same upazila.
Liton was run over by a Paikgachha-bound passenger bus when he was crossing the road, witnesses said.
Transport services on Khulna-Satkhira and Khulna-Paikgachha roads were disrupted about an hour as angry mob put up barricades in protest against the accident.
