Two killed in road accidents

Our Correspondent from Gaibandha adds: A ten-year-old girl of village Talukjamira under Palashbari upazila was killed in a road accident and her mother sustained severe injures on Gaibandha-Palashbari highway yesterday.

The accident occurred when a speedy motorcycle hit the victim Asma and her mother Ajina Begum from behind while they were going to their relative's house at Talukjamira from village Ghorabandha.

Asma died on the spot and her mother was rushed to Rangpur Medical College Hospital with severe injuries in critical condition.

Our Correspondent from Pabna reports: At least one person was killed and 20 others were injured in a road mishap at Madhupur on Dhaka-Pabna highway yesterday.

Sources said a Pabna-bound passenger bus skidded off the road when the driver lost control over the steering in the early morning.

The dead was identified as Md Akmol Hossain, 35, of Radhanagar village. He died at Pabna General Hospital.

Of the injured, Jamrul, Murad, Kuddus, Mukul, Shukur, Abdus Sattar, Rabin, Ridoy, Kalu, Shuruz, Swapna, Kalpana, Barkat and Abdur Razzak were admitted to Pabna General Hospital.

Later two of the injured were sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital in critical condition, hospital sources said.
