Two PBCP leaders among six outlaws arrested
The arrestees include Asir Uddin, 50, a regional PBCP commander from Khalispara in Jhikra union and Abdur Rashid, 38, a PBCP publicity wing commander.
Police said Asir was accused in three murder cases -- killings of Jatiya Party leader Dulu Sarkar, UP member Afsar Ali and Mozaffar, while Aynal is accused in one murder case.
Other arrestees are Boni Sar, 32, of Morugram Dangapara, Altaf, 26 of Udpara, Aynal, 28 and Layeb, 40 of Polashi villages.
Police said Aynal and Bani Sar were PBCP killing squad members and Aynal was accused in one murder case.
The rest are members of PBCP publicity wing and they used to print and distribute leaflets.
Several police teams led by Officer in Charge (OC) of Bagmara Police Station Mirza Golam Sarwar raided houses of the outlaws being informed by the villagers over phone and caught the outlaws.
The OC said Altaf and Layeb admitted to police that they used to distribute leaflets claiming responsibility of murders or other underground operations while Rashid said that he was in charge of printing posters and leaflets in Rajshahi region.
They also told police that they printed and distributed leaflets at various places of Bagmara, Taherpur and Bhawaniganj claiming responsibility of the killing of Goalkandi Union Council Chairman Jahangir Sarker on April 26, said the OC.
