UK Shadow Secy of State visits Grameen Bank
Andrew Mitchell, the United Kingdom's Shadow Secretary of State for International Development and Lord Ashcroft, KCMG, paid a two-day visit to Bangladesh on July 17-18 to observe and discuss development issues, particularly micro-finance, water and sanitation.
Their programmes included visits to Grameen Bank and Wateraid projects in Dhaka and elsewhere in Bangladesh and a discussion with Brac and other members of the Bangladesh development community, a British High Commission press release said yesterday.
They also called on Foreign Minister M Morshed Khan.
