ULAB introduces Maj Gen Mannan Siddiqui Scholarship

Dr Maliha Mannan Ahmed, daughter of late Major General (Retd) Abdul Mannan Siddiqui handed over a cheque for Tk 10 lakh and scholarship documents to ULAB Vice-Chancellor Kazi Shahid Ahmed at a simple ceremony on its Mohakhali campus yesterday.
The number of named scholarship for ULAB students now stands at six. Prospective students acquiring GPA 5 in HSC and no less than 4.5 in SSC are entitled to apply for this scholarship. The ULAB students who have CGPA 3.5 in the semesters held in the last one year are also entitled to this scholarship. The scholarship holders will be entitled to receive full tuition scholarship (waiver) and they will also receive Tk 2,000 per month in the regular semesters.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Rafiqul Islam, Dr Maliha Mannan Ahmed and journalist Raqib Siddique spoke on the occasion with Kazi Shahid Ahmed in the chair. ULAB treasurer Kazi Nabil Ahmed moderated the programme.
Chief adviser of a caretaker government Justice Latifur Rahman, former minister Captain (Retd) Nurul Haque, chairman of the Board of Governors, Ameenah Ahmed and members of Mannan Siddiqui's family, friends and relatives were present. Deans of different schools, ULAB students, faculty members and officials were also present in the ceremony.
