UN Day today

In a message on the occasion, Prime Minister Khaleda Zia sought collective will and concrete action to build a global partnership under the UN umbrella for a better future for the coming generations.

The international community is reminded of the challenges that they face today, ranging from poverty and deprivation to environmental degradation and extremism, she said.

"We need the UN more than ever to tackle various issues of global concern," the prime minister said, renewing the commitment of the people of Bangladesh and its government to the objectives and principles of the UN charter.
