UNFPA executive director Obaid arrives today

During her stay in Bangladesh, Obaid is expected to meet prime minister, minister for health and family welfare, foreign minister, finance minister, development partners, members of civil society and senior government officials.

She will also attend a conference of Imams on May 16 at the China-Bangladesh Friendship Conference Centre.

She will meet the press on May 16 at 3:00pm at hotel Sheraton.

During her meetings, she will discuss the Bangladesh Population Programme in general and UNFPA assistance to Bangladesh in particular. She will also visit some UNFPA project sites.
