Veena Sikri calls on Saifur

Outgoing High Commissioner of India Veena Sikri called on Finance and Planning Minister M Saifur Rahman at his office here yesterday.

They discussed various matters relating to mutual interests, including the investment proposal of Tata, an official handout said.

Veena Sikri praised the progress of Bangladesh in different fields during the last five-year tenure of the present government.

She assured the finance minister of providing all-out support from Indian government for overall development of Bangladesh.

The high commissioner also expressed her gratitude to the government for extending support during her service in Bangladesh.
