Wall Street Journal boss Kann meets PM
During his meeting with the Bangladesh Leader, Kann, who is chairman of the Board of Dow Jones and CEO and publisher of The Wall Street Journal, took a walk down his memory lane, recalling his experiences of covering Bangladesh's independence war.
Kann recalled late President Ziaur Rahman's leading role in the 1971 independence war.
Officials briefing newsmen after the meeting at Grand Hyatt hotel said Kann appreciated increasing trade and investment in Bangladesh and wanted to know more from the Prime Minister.
Khaleda told Kann about her government's packages of incentive for investment in Bangladesh.
She said a number of big foreign business companies from United States, EU, Japan and the Middle East and India, including Dhabi groups and Indian Tata, are investing in Bangladesh.
Khaleda invited Kann to visit Bangladesh.
Kann showed interest to visit Bangladesh, a country he did not visit again since he had a professional assignment to cover Bangladesh's liberation war in 1971.
