Warrant for arrest of three former Taxes Bar leaders
A Dhaka court yesterday issued a warrant for arrest against former president, general secretary and treasurer of Dhaka Taxes Bar Association (DTBA) for embezzlement of Tk 28 lakh from its fund.
The accused are former president Advocate Shah Zikrul Ahmed, general secretary Advocate MA Gafur Majumder and treasurer Advocate Sarwar Hossain khondaker.
Four members of the DTBA filed the case yesterday with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. In their complaint, the four mentioned that the accused were elected bearers of the DTBA for the term of 2004-2005. During their tenure, they had made forged vouchers and embezzled Tk 28 lakh from its fund.
After hearing, Metropolitan Magistrate AJM Abdullahel Baqui recorded statement of the complainant and passed the order.
