Website on election info launched
Eminent economist Prof Muzaffer Ahmad launched the website (www.shujan.org) at a simple ceremony at the Shujan office in the city. M Hafizuddin Khan, former advisor to the caretaker government, and Badiul Alam Majumder, secretary of Shujan, were present on the occasion.
The organisers said the website is aimed at empowering the voters with adequate information about the political parties and their candidates so that the voters can make a more informed decision while choosing their representatives.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Presently, the website contains voter lists of 27 districts. The lists of other districts will be posted soon, said the organisers.
The website also contains the constitutions of major political parties and their previous electoral pledges, the verdicts of the High Court and the Appellate Division regarding the voter list and the High Court verdict regarding information about candidates in parliamentary elections.
