Wife beaten to death for dowry

Police recovered the body early this morning from the bedroom of her house at Banargati under Sonadanga of Khulna city. It was found hanging with a rope from ceiling fan.

Police quoting neighbours said she was mercilessly beaten by her husband on that night for refusing to get money as dowry from her father.

Police further said Hanif used to physically torture his wife Sharmin for dowry.

According to inquest report, the body bears deep marks of injuries.

An unnatural death case was filed in this regard.
